Building the Next Generation of BUCK
BUCK development is entering a new phase.
Over recent months, our primary focus has been maintaining network stability, supporting mining infrastructure, and investigating the technical and licensing requirements for future wallet development.
We are now expanding our work toward a broader modernization strategy.
What we have accomplished
- Verified the licensing status of modern Orchard releases.
- Identified Zebra 6.0.0 as a reference architecture for further evaluation.
- Reconstructed key BUCK consensus parameters from source code.
- Confirmed the BUCK mainnet source configuration uses a Heartwood-era protocol baseline; Canopy is not activated in the reviewed source.
- Started evaluating future consensus and emission requirements.
- Introduced a license-before-implementation development policy.
What comes next
BUCK-IRONWOOD: Research into Orchard, Zebra, Ironwood and potential future consensus architectures.
BUCK-WEB-200: Modernization of the official BUCK website, including a development news section and preservation of historical project content.
BUCK Whitepaper 2.0: An updated technical and strategic document reflecting verified research, development milestones and future proposals.
Community communication: Regular updates through our website and Discord community.
Our commitment
We believe sustainable development requires transparency, verifiable technical progress and responsible software licensing.
BUCK is moving forward — with a clearer roadmap and a commitment to keeping our community informed.
